LEGO for Africa
When play becomes education, and every brick builds hope
LEGO for Africa is a recurring educational and humanitarian project, launched in December 2024, created to bring joy, color, and real opportunities for development to children from vulnerable communities in Kenya — through the power of play and creativity.
LEGO for Africa is a recurring educational and humanitarian project, launched in December 2024, created to bring joy, color, and real opportunities for development to children from vulnerable communities in Kenya — through the power of play and creativity.
We strongly believe that play is not a luxury, but an essential tool for learning, self-expression, and emotional healing. Through LEGO workshops, children don’t just build objects — they learn to collaborate, think creatively, gain confidence, and dare to dream.
So far, LEGO bricks have reached over 100 children.
More than 60 kg of LEGO bricks and over 30 brand-new LEGO sets have been donated, and the project is now in its third year of implementation.
Since the beginning of 2026, two LEGO workshops have been organized, during which children actively participated, worked in teams, and experienced moments of genuine joy, focus, and creativity.
For many of them, this was their very first structured play experience, in a safe environment where they were encouraged to create freely and intuitively, and to express themselves without fear.
It was also their first encounter with LEGO bricks — a globally renowned brand that, until that moment, meant absolutely nothing in their lives.
Beyond names or reputation, LEGO became for them a tool for discovery, learning, and joy — a gateway to imagination, confidence, and hope.
Because sometimes, a single brick can mean:
In communities where access to educational resources is limited, experiences like these can create real and lasting change.

Kids today are all enchanted by TikTok, YouTube, Netflix, and the latest text messages from their friends. Their hands hold cell phones, not tennis rackets. Their feet recline on pillows on the sofa rather than kicking a soccer ball. Kenyan children don’t have the “luxury” of these technologies. Yet, they know what joy sport brings, and even if they can’t afford a football ball, they will always find ways to improvise. We encourage and support sports activities, both in schools and outside them, in village communities or professional sport clubs.
Athletic training and academic study are interrelated. Both are two sides of one coin. Sports in education are an integral part of the curriculum. It helps to shape a person’s personality and contributes to their holistic development. Sponsorship for local village soccer team of Msambweni Their challenges: - the club has no sponsors - improper facilities & equipment - no transport available to away matches Our Mission: - To support and provide all the equipment needed in order to have a better performance in the local league championship. (balls, uniforms, boots, gloves)
"Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world." This is a fancy quote that should apply to every little boy and girl in the world, but here in Kenya it is quite a luxury. Most of the children walk barefoot for hours to get to school or wherever they need to be. Their parents are struggling putting food om the table which makes shoes a last concern and certaintly not a priority. Therefore Hakuna Matata started the "Shoe Culture" project. Shoes are not a fancy accessory but an important, functional and mandatory thing for Kenyan children to be able to attend school. Join us in our project in making children conquer with the right shoes. #everykidmatter
